Started getting fit on Monday, May 18th 2020.
Consistency was key to seeing results. The overall purpose was to firm up my muscles and lose the beer belly. When starting, set a two month milestone and set up the #projectsixpack challenge, with a deadline of July 18th.
Decided to share this on instagram so friends can provide feedback and motivation. Every other day, I’d post a picture in my stories and tag #projectsixpack and a comment reading, “I see you July 18.”
My workout equipment included resistance bands, push up bars and a bench. My garage was the perfect gym-space.
Month one was tough. Worked on flexibility, form and strength. Started Mountain Biking weekly with my neighbor who encouraged me to go out once a week on beautiful Virginia trails. Building on Mountain Biking skills is for another blog, but highly encourage others to try. Was able to work out 24 of the first 30 days, which was a great accomplishment.
Month two came around and the routine was set. Wake up each morning, and followed schedule below:
Monday: P90X: Chest and Back + Ab Ripper X
Tuesday: Insanity: Pure Cardio or Mountain Bike for 2 hours
Wednesday: P90X: Shoulders and Arms + Ab Ripper X
Thursday: Yoga X
Friday: P90X: Legs and Back + Ab Ripper X
Saturday: Insanity: Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Two months later, I have a flat stomach with a semi-visible six pack and a The Fitness Routine.
